Many Liverpool supporters want a player to arrive in January to strengthen our midfield options. But it appears that we will only be able to sign one of Sofyan Amrabat. Enzo Fernandez, and Jude Bellingham this winter. Bailey said that some are on the list.

What did Bailey say?

Transfer specialist Graeme Bailey remarked in a TEAMtalk interview:

Enzo Fernandez and Jude Bellingham are very much on Liverpool’s radar. But a January deal is not on the cards for either of them. Work on both of those is likely to continue – but nothing is decided yet.

“The most likely option for January at this point looks like being Sofyan Amrabat. Fiorentina have said they are not looking to sell. But that is not what his agents are saying as they are making it clear they believe something is achievable.

Although the youngster from Borussia Dortmund seems to be our fans’ favorite player by a wide margin, it is far from guaranteed that we will be able to sign him, therefore Bailey said it would be foolish for the team to place all of its eggs in one basket.

The Moroccan World Cup hero may be a cheap alternative that, even if it doesn’t work out long-term, could be someone ready to adapt into our style of play right away if we want to buy a player in January.

The arrival of the Fiorentina player might fill the void left by the potential departures of players like Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arthur Melo, and James Milner at the end of the current campaign. Jurgen Klopp will likely make the ultimate choice, so we’ll have to wait and see how desperate he believes we are for a fresh middle-field alternative.
