Bayern may sign another midfielder in addition to newly signed Konrad Laimer

Bayern Munich’s continued dismal performance makes the forthcoming summer transfer window critical for Thomas Tuchel. After taking over as head coach at the end of March, the German coach has struggled to make an impact. Bayern Munich is in serious risk of failing to win all three major titles this season.

Bayern look forward to sign new midfielders this summer

Tuchel is set to meet with Bayern executives in six weeks to discuss potential summer transfer prospects. After witnessing the team’s troubles in front of goal this season, the club is looking to sign a new number nine. Tuchel apparently wants a fresh addition in the centre of the field in addition to a striker. Tuchel, according to AZ (viaiMiaSanMia), wants a defensively solid and ball-playing midfielder to help Joshua Kimmich in the middle. It remains to be seen whether Bayern will attempt to add a new midfielder now that Konrad Laimer has been signed.

Tuchel is reportedly dissatisfied with the midfield duo of Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, according to a media outlet in Germany. The former has routinely performed admirably for Bayern this season, but Goretzka has been inconsistent and not exactly daring on the ball while attacking. Tuchel currently has Ryan Gravenberch as a midfield option in addition to Kimmich and Goretzka. Several attacking and defensive players can also play in midfield for Bayern, but they are not long-term solutions.

Gravenberch has been competing for playing time this season under Tuchel and Julian Nagelsmann. The Dutch midfielder has been widely connected with Premier League clubs, with Liverpool already holding negotiations with his father regarding a summer transfer. Bayern is adamant that Gravenberch will continue in their long-term plans. Laimer will cover for Kimmich, but he isn’t a ball-playing midfielder. When Marcel Sabitzer returns from his loan spell at Manchester United next season, Tuchel will have another option. However, the Bavarian club is willing to let go of the 28-year-old midfielder.

Tuchel may bring chelsea star Kovacic to Die Roten

Tuchel is a huge fan of Kovacic from their time together at Chelsea. Bayern Boss believes he is the perfect signing to sit at the heart of the defence. He can function as a pivot for players like Laimer and Joshua Kimmich to play more offensively. Furthermore, Chelsea are willing to let the Croatian international leave this summer, despite the fact that he just has one year left on his deal. Tuchel will discuss a potential move for Kovacic with sporting directors Hasan Salihamidzic and Marco Neppe closer to the season’s finish, as well as any alternative proposals they may have.

In order to sign another midfielder in the summer, Bayern may have to part ways with Gravenberch. If he fails to get game-time guarantee for the upcoming season, the Dutch midfielder will attempt to force a departure. Gravenberch’s departure might be possible by the arrival of Laimer and one additional midfielder. Furthermore, the revenue from Gravenberch’s departure will be critical for Die Roten’s pursuit of a midfielder.
