Bayern Munich are waiting for a response from Niklas Sule for a contract extension. The Bavarians are eager to know about Sule’s decision, whether he wants to stay or leave the club this summer. Bayern could be out in the transfer market later this summer in search of a new Centre-back, only if Sule leaves.

The club hierarchy are not in a rush to sign a Defender as of now, as they hope to convince Sule to stay at the Allianz Arena for some more time.

Meanwhile, Bayern president Herbert Hainer confirmed that they have made an attempt to extend Sule’s contract. He also said that the club will now wait for the German’s verdict, which might come in a few weeks. On the other hand, Bayern have been busy handing new contracts to some of their most influential players in the squad.

They saw David Alaba join Real Madrid as a free agent after the Austrian’s contract expired last summer. Bayern will hope to avoid such a situation in Niklas Sule’s case as he is one of the pillars in the Bavarian back-four. However, if Sule leaves the club, Bayern can replace him with a number of Centre-backs set to become free agents later this summer.

Chelsea, FC Barcelona and Newcastle United are among the clubs interested to sign Niklas Sule

The German Centre-back has been on the list of a number of clubs for a potential transfer. Since the news broke out that he is reluctant to extend his contract with the German giants, Chelsea, Barcelona and Newcastle have reportedly set their sights on Niklas Sule.

Chelsea could also be out in the transfer market this summer to sign a new Central defender. Antonio Rudiger, Cezar Azpilicueta, and Andreas Christensen will become free agents in June. After failing to sign Jules Kounde last summer, the Blues have now turned their focus on signing Niklas Sule for free.

Niklas Sule could be on his way to the Premier League or La Liga this summer. FC Barcelona are also seeing him as an option in their Defense for next season. Meanwhile, Newcastle United are hoping to find a way to land the 26-year-old German into their team as they hope to avoid relegations once the PL restarts in February.

Bayern President Herbert Hainer provided an update on Sule’ situation:-

“We made an offer for Niklas Süle. Now it’s up to him to accept or reject it. Of course it has to be within a certain period of time, because then we have to position ourselves accordingly. I don’t know the exact date right now, but at some point in the foreseeable future, he will certainly say what he wants to do. And then we’ll talk to him”

said Hainer to MiaSanMia

Niklas Sule is free to enter negotiations with any club of his choice this month before completing a free transfer at the end of the season.
