About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Bayern Munich are keen on extending the contracts of young midfielders. They lost the first match of 2022 in the Bundesliga but the bavarians are still going strong in the German top-flight. Their 2-1 loss against Borussia Monchengladbach meant that Bayern have lost twice against Gladbach in the Bundesliga this season. Despite their narrow loss, they still have a few positives to capitalize on as the season proceeds.

The biggest positive for them was handing two academy graduates their first-team debuts. Lucas Capado and Paul Wanner were the two debutants for Bayern Munich on match-day 18. Both the youngsters came on as substitutes during the second-half, when they were already trailing by 2-1. Bayerns’s situation forced Julien Nagelsmann to call up players from the reserve team to feature against Monhengladbach.

Both of them had a decent start to their future in the Allianz arena. They had some bright moments as soon as they came up on the pitch. The youngsters did not fail to impress during their short appearances for Bayern Munich. Both the midfielders played a small cameo as the bavarians were looking for an equalizer to get back on level terms.

However, Gladbach came back in the match after going 1-0 down in the first-half. They managed to snatch all three points from the reigning champions and sit 12th in the league table.

Bayern Munich are prioritizing on securing a long-term deal for young and promising midfielders

Paul Wanner has emerged as a strong prospect to be the next thing in Bayern Munich. The Bavarians have a habit of developing young footballers into grown and matured players. Their emphasis on youngsters has payed off every season as they win at least two trophies every season. They won 10 league titles in the last decade and also completed the famous treble in the 2019/20 season.

Meanwhile, Wanner has showed that he can follow the footsteps of some legendary Bayern munich midfielders. The 16-year-old is now the youngest player to make an appearance in Bundesliga for Die roten. He came on in place of Marc Roca in the 75th minute against Gladbach to share the pitch with some of the masters of the game.

Wanner’s contract at Allianz arena is set to expire within 6 months and Bayern Munich are eager to extend his current contract. Sky sports understands that Die roten are working extend his contract beyond this summer as he is highly rated by Julien Nagelsmann as well as the Bayern hierarchy.

If the Bavarians extend the 16-year-old’s contract, he will join the likes of Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies. Musiala has flourished with the german outfit since making his debut last season. His impressive performances last season, earned him a new long-term contract at the club.

Meanwhile, Alphonso Davies arrived at Bayern munich from Vancouver whitecaps only a few seasons ago. He was involved into the first team, which was a huge development since Davies was a teenager and had no experience playing in Europe. The Canadian excelled in the left-back position during Bayern’s treble-winning campaign. He is currently one of the crucial players in the squad.
