Bengaluru just fulfilled their requirement to go further in Super Cup

Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters battled out a 1-1 draw in their Hero Super Cup 2023 Group A matchup at Kozhikode’s EMS Corporation Stadium. The Blues advanced to the semi-finals thanks to the point.

Bengaluru FC came out determined to take control. And took an early lead in the 23rd minute through Roy Krishna. But Kerala Blasters came storming back in the 78th minute through Diamantakos Dimitrios. Who was supported by a large crowd of 22,565 people.

The game lived up to expectations, with both teams displaying some outstanding teamwork. Bengaluru FC got out to a fast start, controlling possession in the first ten minutes.

Naorem Roshan Singh, who once again demonstrated his amazing skill on the night, got the game’s first meaningful goal opportunity. The 24-year-old dribbled past three Kerala Blasters defenders and attempted a shot on goal. But it was saved by the custodian.

The Blasters, on the other hand, went on the offensive and kept Bengaluru’s defence busy. Saurav Mandal hit powerfully from the edge of the box in the 16th minute, but Gurpreet Singh Sandhu comfortably saved his on-target attempt.

Javi Hernandez, though, stole the show in the centre of the park. With his pure talent and poise on the ball, the Spaniard drove Bengaluru’s engine from the centre.

Simon Grayson’s troops took the lead thanks to his fantastic flip in the 23rd minute, followed by a defence-splitting pass. Krishna beat the custodian to the ball and poked it in. Bengaluru took the lead when an approaching Victor Mongil couldn’t clear it off the line.

The Spanish defender, on the other hand, came up with one of the tournament’s boldest blocks in the 33rd minute. He put his head in the line of an incoming Krishna volley that appeared to be headed for the back of the net.

Both teams proceeded to create some fantastic stretches and kept the ball going from wing to wing in quest of a breakthrough. RoundGlass Punjab FC, much to the pleasure of the Blues, seized the lead in their encounter against Sreenidi Deccan FC in the 41st minute, courtesy of Valpuia’s header.

Vibin Mohanan found space in the attacking third and went for glory, giving Bengaluru a fright shortly before halftime. The midfielder’s rising shot, though, went right into Gurpreet’s palms, and the score stayed 1-0.

Kerala Blasters appeared more savage in attack after switching sides. The guys in yellow launched waves of attacks, keeping the audience on its toes. Diamantakos Dimitrios’ powerful free-kick drive was saved by Gurpreet in the 50th minute.
