About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Sebastian Kehl, head of first-team football at Borussia Dortmund have a clear message to all the clubs chasing Jude Bellingham. The former Dortmund player was talking before his sides DFB Pokal match victory against FC Ingolstadt.

Talking to Sport1, Kehl talked about the interest shown by other clubs for their star Jude Bellingham. The 41-year-old cleared the mystery surrounding the release clause that Bellingham has with Dortmund. According to Kehl, there is no release clause in the contract and any club looking to sign the English teenager will have to negotiate with the Dortmund management.

This however will be bad news for the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United who have been trying to sign the youngster. Jude Bellingham, still just 18, has been phenomenal since his debut with Dortmund and is one of their key players. And now it is clear that the club is not in any hurry to sell him any time soon.

DORTMUND NOT TO LET BELLINGHAM GO

Bellingham joined Dortmund in the summer of 2020, snubbing the likes of Manchester United. Ever since his move from Birmingham City, the English teenager has been a mainstay in the Dortmund side. The midfielder has already made 61 appearances for the Black and Yellows scoring 7 and assisting 10.

He is an excellent box to box midfielder who is good at both ends. Lately, he has added goals to his game, arriving in the box more often. Bellingham has established himself as one of the first names in the Dortmund team and has rightfully earned 8 international caps with the England side.

This has attracted interest from many top clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. There were reports of Bellingham having a release clause in his contract that could force Dortmund to sell him for cheap. But the latest comments from Kehl has reinforced the fact that there are no such clauses and Bellingham is an important part of the project at the club.

“He is a Borussia Dortmund player and remains a Borussia Dortmund player. There is no exit clause. It’s good that we talk about our players. It shows that we are doing something right. We can offer a lot at Borussia Dortmund. We want to win titles, but we have to keep the guys for that.”- said Kehl.

It is also believed that the player is also happy with his development at Dortmund. And with a contract till 2025, if any side wants to sign Bellingham, they will have to spend a huge transfer fee, which could be upwards of €100 million.
