Bruno Fernandes equals Cristiano Ronaldo’ Record for Manchester United

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Bruno Fernandes goal against Leicester City helped him reach a stunning achievement for Manchester United. Which sees him becoming the second Portuguese player to score 10 Premier League goals in one season.

This feat was first achieved by Ronaldo when he netted 17 goals in the 2006 PL campaign. He went on to score 10 plus goals in three consecutive seasons in PL from 2006 to 2009.

Bruno Fernandes got into the scoresheet for Manchester United against Leicester when he converted Edinson Cavani‘s splendid pass.

Apart from the goal, he turned into a provider himself. He assisted Marcus Rashford’s goal in the first half which helped Manchester United take the lead.

Bruno Fernandes heroics in the game couldn’t prevent Manchester United from dropping points at Leicester.

Barnes lovely finish from outside the box and Axel Tuanzebe’s own goal made all the difference. The Foxes avoided another loss which could have dented their chances of finishing in the top four spot.

Is Bruno Fernandes the backbone of Manchester United?

Despite United taking a point back, there was a lot to learn from the game. And one of the takeaways is how Bruno plays a crucial role in the squad.

Bruno is Manchester United’ top scorer in PL with 10 goals. And he is the top assist provider as well with 6 assists under his name. Therefore, it proves that he is Manchester United’ main man as he is always at the forefront of creating goals.

Manchester United who are currently 4th in the table will look forward to the match against Wolverhampton. Which they will want to win in order to move upwards in the table. And to keep the pressure on the leaders Liverpool who are 4 points adrift from The Red Devils.
