Cassio Gabriel joins Mumbai City FC on loan

Cassio Gabriel is joining Mumbai City FC from Vila Nova who are a club in the Campeonato Brasileirao Serie B. He joins Mumbai City FC for a year in this season’s campaign.

Cassio’s Journey

The 29-year-old comes from the nation of football Brazil. As a result, lovingly the fans of the sport call him Cassaninho. His football journey begins from playing for the Fluminense U-20 team. Other Brazilian teams whom he did represent were ASEEV-GO ,Paysandu SC, Guarani, Penapolense, Anapolis, Sao Bento, Piracicaba, Botafogo and Mirassol , Bento Goncalves.

Hence he carries a lot of experience with him. In the June of 2020, he signs for Vila Nova. Cassios’s talents on the football pitch include the ability to play on any of the flanks. Also, he can join the attack from the middle whenever needed. Making a total of 12 appearances for Vila Nova he did bag an assist.

Representing the youth team of Fluminense team he reached the Croatian team Hajduk Split in the year 2013 on loan. Hence it is the only non-Brazilian team he has played for.

Cassio says in an interview that Mumbai City is very famous in Brazil since a lot of Brazilians played for Mumbai City. He adds that his ears are filled with just good things about the Club-who will now defend their title- Cassio expresses that the ambition of the club was a key factor convincing him to join Mumbai this is where I want to be.

The Club’s ambition is to win Trophies and target to be a phenomenal club on a continental level. He says that he is excited to be playing for this team. Cassio adds the Indian Super League is a league that is holding ground with a good football quality being played. He also acknowledges that there is a very tiresome season coming in front.
