Chelsea legend says that one current Chelsea man is absolutely ‘perfect’ for the club

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has given a glowing verdict on Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino is into his sixth month as the Chelsea manager but hasn’t really lived up to the expectations. After the owners spent over £350 million in the summer transfer window, the Argentine was expected to deliver. However, 14 games into the season, the Blues find them 10th on the Premier League table. They are already 10 points away from the top 4.

Chelsea have been very inconsistent this season. They showed real grit by defeating Brighton last week with 10-men. The Blues will now face Manchester United in the midweek fixure but it will be anyone’s guess as to how Chelsea will perform in that game.

‘He is the perfect manager for us’, says Gianfranco Zola

Gianfranco Zola is definitely a Chelsea legend and the club’s greatest ever player for many.

He has given a very positive assessment on Pochettino, which can only be a good thing for any Blues manager. Zola believes that the Argentine is the “perfect” individual in the manager’s dugout right now.

When discussing Pochettino on The Obi One Podcast, Zola said: “I think he is the perfect manager for us because he’s already worked before in situations like this. He worked with teams that were young with a lot of potential and he made them a very good team. I think he is the right man. We need to understand that a team is not formed in one week, two weeks or a month. It takes time… We cannot doubt the abilities of Mauricio. He’s a very, very good coach.”

Pochettino will get more time

Recently Journalist Paul Brown told GiveMeSport that the talk behind the scenes at Chelsea points towards Pochettino getting more time to come good. With such a young and inexperienced squad, the Argentine must be permitted the time to see through this project.

However, after spending over a billion Euros, the owners will demand results sooner rather than later. If Pochettino is unable to deliver soon, the manager might have to make reconsider their decision to give him time.
