Chelsea have reportedly made a whopping €100 million bid to sign Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku as per the report in ESPN.
The Belgian joined the west London club back in 2011 from Anderlecht for €15 million but didn’t have a great time and was loaned out several times. The 28-year-old established his career during his time at Everton. Following a great couple of seasons, the forward earned himself a move to Manchester United for €85 million.
However, it wasn’t a great success for the Inter man. And in the end, he found his feet in Serie A, helping the Nerazzurri to clinch the 19th Serie A title last season. The Belgian has established himself as one of the best forwards in the world which caught the attention of Thomas Tuchel who is searching for a new world-class forward this summer.
Will Inter accept the Chelsea’ bid for Lukaku?
According to the report, Chelsea have submitted a whopping €100 million plus Marcus Alonso bid in the pursuit of Romelu Lukaku this summer. However, Inter have already turned down the offer and clearly stated that the Belgian is untouchable this summer.
Lukaku also previously claimed that he is happy in Milan and does not want to relocate his future anytime soon. However, the Nerazzurri are in a financial crisis this summer and have already sold Achraf Hakimi to PSG. Selling the Belgian would completely balance the book and would get Alonso as well. The Serie A giants are looking for a new left-wing-back this summer and the Spaniard would be the perfect addition for that role.
Nevertheless, if Inter decide to sell their star ace this summer for the mentioned player plus cash package. Then that would make the Belgian the most expensive player sold by the Serie A side. Currently, the record holder is Paul Pogba where Manchester United bought the 28-year-old for €105 million.
So, it would be interesting to see if the Nerazzurri will sell Lukaku to Chelsea this summer or not. Having been crowned the Champions of Italy last season, it would be a hard breaking scene for the Nerazzurri fans to see their star man leaving the club.
