Chelsea Loan Update: Barkley, Batshuayi, Bakayoko, Moses, and Loftus-Cheek

Chelsea have sent many players like Ross Barkley, Michy Batshuayi, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Victor Moses and Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan.

However, their current clubs would not mind signing the players for a permanent deal.

The Pensioners are well-known for the development of some talented players sending them on loan. The club has greatly benefitted through this loaning system. Let’s have a look at the updates regarding the current Chelsea loanees.

Ross Barkley – shining on loan from Chelsea

Ross Barkley is one of the gifted midfielders playing in the Premier League. However, with the addition of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz, he was facing even less playing time for the Blues.

Currently, Barkley is on loan to Aston Villa. He has linked well alongside Jack Grealish and Ollie Watkins.

However, injuries haunt him as the 27-year-old has just started nine matches for the Villans.

His contract expires on 31 May 2021. Newcastle United and the current club Aston Villa are interested in signing him. However, the Blues would be looking for a better deal.

Tiemoue Bakayoko – defending well on loan

Tiemoue Bakayoko struggled to become a regular for the Blues and is currently on his third loan stint, now at Napoli.

However, he recently assisted Matteo Politano for the sixth goal in a 6-0 rout of Fiorentina in the Serie A.

The Italian giants are in fine form in the recent few months as they are currently sitting at 3rd place in the League.

His contract is also expiring this year on 30 June. His brother Abdoulaye is also his agent and expects the 26-year-old midfielder to make the deal permanent to Naples.

Michy Batshuayi – needs to improve on loan from Chelsea

Once a key striker for the Blues, the 27-year-old forward is currently out of favour for the London side.

He is currently on loan to Crystal Palace for the second time. However, the striker is struggling to find his form.

However, as per Belgian newspaper HLN, the club doesn’t want to consider his return to the club.

His contract expires on 31 May 2021 and he is expected to stay at Crystal Palace till the end of the season. Currently, he has not yet interested any clubs.

Victor Moses -Longest-serving player on loan for Chelsea

Victor Moses joined Chelsea way back in 2012, but he has played in six different loans to 6 different clubs till now.

He is currently playing for Russian giants Spartak Moscow. Moses is the longest-serving player and he would be keen on returning to Stamford Bridge.

He was almost regular when the coach was Antonio Conte but Moses was rarely used under his successors took charge.

The 30-year-old Nigerian midfielder has his contract expiring on June 30 2021. Inter Milan and AC Milan are reportedly interested in him.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – a gifted forward for Fulham

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is another talented player that is on loan from Chelsea. He currently plays for relegation-threatened neighbours Fulham.

The 24-year-old midfielder is in his second-ever loan and was one of the underrated players while playing for Chelsea.

However, after the inclusion of many new players, it was better for him to move away from Stamford Bridge.

His contract expires on May 31 this year. Rumours are persisting that Loftus-Cheek might be swapped for Declan Rice from West Ham United. However, the Blues manager Frank Lampard hasn’t lost his belief in him.

Currently, 29 players are on the loan book of Chelsea and many are yet dreaming of their return to play for their former club.
