Graham Potter

Ben Chilwell is on track to make a comeback to Chelsea training very soon. Since, he approaches recovery from a hamstring injury. The left-back has been on the reserve since September. But his imminent return serves as a significant boost to Mauricio Pochettino and the team.

Upon his return, Chilwell will be aiming for an extended run in the side. Since, he seeks to make an impression on Gareth Southgate that is before next summer’s European Championships. The England international has been facing challenges with muscular injuries in recent seasons. Hence, he will be determined to maintain fitness for the remainder of the campaign.

Good news for Chelsea in the form of new injury updates

Meanwhile, Chelsea will receive a boost with the return of goalkeeper Robert Sanchez. Hope is he will be present again in the upcoming weeks. The Spaniard sustained a knee injury during the away match against Manchester United that is early December. Now, the injury further escalated in the subsequent game at Everton a few days later.

In Sanchez’s absence, Djordje Petrovic has taken on the goalkeeper role and has performed exceptionally well. After securing a clean sheet on his full Premier League debut against Sheffield United over the weekend, Petrovic further solidified his impact by saving Matt Ritchie’s penalty in the shootout during Tuesday night’s victory over Newcastle United.

Noni Madueke is also nearing a return to action for Chelsea since he recently resumed first-team training. Although he wasn’t quite up for it to be in the squad for Tuesday night’s victory against Newcastle. However, there is a possibility that he could join his teammates at Molineux on Christmas Eve.

One can anticipate more updates from Pochettino on Noni Madueke, Robert Sanchez, and Djordje Petrovic. Also along with the potential return of Romeo Lavia, during his media address on Friday afternoon. Nevertheless, the positive news is that Chelsea’s injury list is gradually diminishing.
