Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch react to Liverpool good news

Liverpool

Liverpool received some great news on Friday as Alexis Mac Allister returned to full training following his injury. Jurgen Klopp‘s side are on top of the Premier League table. They have had a great season so far and are definitely one of the favourites to win the title. The news of Mac Allister’s return is now an added boost.

After returning to full training, he will also be in contention to be in the squad for the game against Newcastle.

Gakpo and Gravenberch react to Mac Allister’s return

Mac Allister, suffered a painful injury in the game Liverpool vs Sheffield United at the start of December. He needed stitches at half-time in that game and was later withdrawn as he couldn’t continue. The midfielder hasn’t played for the Reds since, but there was finally some good news.

The Argentine returned to training on Friday. He took to Instagram to celebrate his return. His teammates Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch both showed him some love in the comments under his post.

Return of Mac Allister a timely boost for Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp will be delighted to have Alexis Mac Allister back – not just because he’s a great player, but also because he desperately needs him.

Wataru Endo, like Mohamed Salah, will join up with his national team after the Newcastle game. This will leave a big hole in Liverpool’s midfield as they don’t have any other defensive midfielder at their disposal.

Mac Allister is not a number six but has played there for Liverpool this season. Even though he has come under a little bit of criticism for his performances in a number six role; he has done pretty well considering that he was not playing in his natural position.

His return is now a timely boost ahead of a tricky January where the Reds will face the likes of Arsenal, Fulham, Bournemouth and Chelsea.
