Danny Murphy gives out his weekend prediction

Jonathan

Former Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy does think there will be a winner when Chelsea take on Newcastle United this weekend.

Chelsea is in good form

Chelsea, who are doing well, will take on Newcastle at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
Just before the international break, Mauricio Pochettino’s team drew 4–4 with Manchester City following a 4–1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur. Danny Murphy recently discussed if he believes the Blues can continue where they left off in an interview with FIVE.

Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku, who may be added to the matchday squad following their separate injuries, might provide them a boost.

Danny Murphy Prediction

Chelsea has had a poor track record while playing at St. James’ Park in recent years. Murphy still believes that despite Newcastle’s injury situation, the Blues will prevail.

The former Liverpool player stated on FIVE ahead of Saturday’s match: “I think Chelsea will win at Newcastle because of Newcastle’s injuries.”
We certainly hope so, but many Chelsea supporters would probably answer St. James’ Park when asked which away venue they detest going to the most.

Optimism in the camp

The Blues have just not fared well there; they were defeated 1-0 there the previous season.

This time, there’s cause for optimism since Chelsea has managed to regain some form and Pochettino, not Graham Potter, is leading the team.

It won’t be an easy game, though, given Newcastle’s injury issues says Danny Murphy

While a victory would be fantastic and help Chelsea maintain their Champions League hopes, the most likely result, given all the factors, looks to be a draw, maybe a 1-1. However, perhaps Pochettino’s team can do better than that.
