On Wednesday, Jamshedpur FC of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) confirmed the termination of the contracts of four players: Ishan Pandita, Laldinliana Renthlei, Boris Singh, and Farukh Choudhary.
While Choudhary was out during Jamshedpur FC’s League Shield-winning season of 2021–22 owing to an unlucky knee injury, Pandita, Renthlei, and Boris played crucial roles for the team.
Prior to the Hero ISL 2021–22 season, Pandita had joined the Men of Steel and was quickly moving up the ranks. The attacker garnered a lot of attention when playing for FC Goa, where he was also given the nickname “super sub.” The India international continued to score goals towards the end of the season, and his performance earned him a senior Indian national team debut. In 36 appearances with the Men of Steel in all competitions, the 25-year-old scored six goals.

After spending 2.5 years with Jamshedpur FC, Boris and Choudhary said their last goodbyes to the team. Boris played a variety of positions for the club during his time there. Displaying excellent versatility, and he made 44 appearances for the Men of Steel in all competitions. The 23-year-old, in addition to playing defence, showed exceptional speed, agility, and crossing skills. And contributed to the team’s offensive performance. For Jamshedpur FC, he scored seven goals and provided four assists.
In January 2021, Choudhary returned to the team and contributed significantly while there. But the midfielder’s knee ailment prevented him from playing in the previous campaign. This season, he made a full recovery and returned to the pitch, playing a sizable amount of time. He made 26 appearances in all competitions during his second stint at the club, recording one goal and one assist.
Since joining Jamshedpur FC in the summer of 2020, full-back Renthlei, also known as Dinliana, has been a reliable defender for the team. He was an invaluable asset to the club because of his extraordinary talent and commitment. He played in 56 games and recorded two assists for the Men of Steel throughout the course of his three-year tenure.
