Borussia Dortmund have reiterated their stand that Erling Haaland will not be sold this summer. This is coming after recent rumours of PSG launching a bid for the Norwegian.
Haaland is one of the best strikers in the world at the moment and is monitored by all the top leagues. However, Dortmund have been adamant throughout the transfer window that 21 years old will stay with them the next season.
Reports came in the last few days that PSG are eyeing Haaland as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe has been heavily linked to a move to Real Madrid, and PSG are preparing for all eventualities. However, Dortmund are confident of keeping Haaland for this season.
DORTMUND CONFIDENT OF HAALAND
Haaland has had an amazing time with Dortmund. After his arrival in Germany, he has scored 63 goals from 64 appearances for the Black and Yellows. Adding the assist to this tally gives him more than a goal contribution per game.
The Norwegian striker has also excelled on the European stage. His 10 goals in the last season of the Champions League made him the top scorer and also helped him to win the UEFA Men’s Forward of the Year. At just 21, he is also the fastest player to reach 20 Champions League goals, doing so in just 14 games.
The recent confusion in his future with Dortmund came after interest from PSG. The French giants are looking at Haaland as a statement replacement for Mbappe, in case the Frenchman leaves them this summer. Dortmund is not ready to sell him this late, but a huge bid could cause a change in mind.
All this could happen if Mbappe moves to Madrid this summer. With only days left in the transfer window and the financial demands for signing Haaland too high, a move is unlikely.
Meanwhile whatever is happening outside the field seem to have no effect on the Norwegian. Haaland scored late into the added time, to help Dortmund pick up a victory against Hoffenheim last night in the Bundesliga. Whether he stays or not, Haaland scoring a goal is inevitable.
