Real Madrid is already planning for the next season as they are ready to go all gun blazing to sign Erling Haaland with the hopes to sell Eden Hazard next season. The club is now looking to sell Eden Hazard in the summer to fund their move for the Norwegian.
It is no secret that the dream Real Madrid move for Hazard did not work out for both parties. Constant injuries and fitness issues have made it hard for the Belgian to shine in Spain.
As a result, Real Madrid is ready to cut their losses and wants to sell Hazard in the summer. The club is planning to use the funds of the sale to help in the pursuit of Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. Currently, Chelsea is the only team that is reported to be interested in signing the Belgian.
DISASTOROUS TIME AT REAL MADRID FOR HAZARD
Eden Hazard made his move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. However, what has been considered a great move for both parties turned out to be a disaster. A series of injuries cut down the playing time of the former Chelsea star.
In his time at Real Madrid, Hazard was only able to appear 51 times for them in all competition. He was only able to score 5 goals for them so far and his dribbling and creativity also took a beating. His final season with Chelsea saw the 30-year-old score 16 goals and assist 15, in his 37 Premier League appearances.
The situation has not improved this season as well. Hazard has not been able to regain the previous forms that made him one of the best wingers in the world. Real Madrid seems to be at the end of their patience with Hazard and is planning to sell him.
HAZARD TO FUND MASSIVE TRANSFER WINDOW
Real Madrid themselves has been underwhelming in the last few seasons, especially in Europe. Los Blancos are hence planning Galactico style transfer in the next summer, with French star Kylian Mbappe almost sure to arrive at them on a free transfer.
But they are not ready to settle with Mbappe as they want to bring in Haaland. Selling Hazard could provide enough funds for Madrid to pursue both the young superstars. Chelsea could turn out to be the destination for Hazard as the club has shown interest to bring him back.
Mbappe has expressed his desire to join Madrid and thus the club will not face much competition to sign him. But Haaland is a different story as all the top clubs in Europe wants to sign him. Hence selling Hazard could become a key in landing Haaland.
