About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

FC Barcelona and Manchester City are ready to Clash for Alexandre Lacazette. Both the clubs are reportedly all set to compete against each other for the signature of the Frenchman. The Arsenal No.9 is also on the radar of top European clubs Juventus, Atletico Madrid and AS Roma. The 30-year-old found his way back into the Gunners playing XI in recent weeks under head coach Mikel Arteta.

However, there is no agreement between him and the club over a new contract. A few weeks ago reports were suggesting that Arsenal will try to keep Alexandre Lacazette by offering him a short-term contract. Atletico Madrid and Roma are both hoping to acquire the services of the Frenchman in the summer. There is still no response from the player’s side if he is going to commit to a short-term deal at the Emirates Stadium.

According to Fichajes, Manchester City and FC Barcelona will face off each other to land Alexandre Lacazette. Both the clubs will be joined by Atletico Madrid, Juventus and AS Roma during the 2022 Summer transfer window. Arsenal is slowly finding its way into the Top 5 of the Premier League table. But their run of 5 unbeaten games in the English Top-flight ended after Liverpool handed them a loss of 4-0.

IS ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE HEADING TOWARDS AN EXIT FROM THE EMIRATES STADIUM?

Alexandre Lacazette will most likely not agree to a new short-term contract at Arsenal. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old is wanted by other European clubs and he has options to choose from. Barcelona is in the market for a new attacker following the recent news about Sergio Aguero’s heart problems. The city is also searching for a new forward that could lead their front line. Atletico has been following the French striker and almost signed him back in 2017.

Alexandre Lacazette moved to the Gunners in 2017 following a successful seven-year spell at Olympique Lyonnais. However, Manchester City and FC Barcelona may also face competition from West Ham United and Newcastle United for his signature. Newcastle is also in contention to sign the 30-year-old after the takeover by the Public Investment Fund by the Saudi’s.

The Frenchman, who moved to the Emirates for £46.5million from Lyon in 2017 has scored 68 goals and registered 29 assists in 179 appearances for Arsenal. But, Alexandre Lacazette has just three goals to his name from 10 appearances this season, one of which has come in the Premier League.
