In the Champions League, FC Copenhagen will play Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich often does all of its significant practises at home before leaving for a game.

Thomas Tuchel, the team’s head coach, decided against doing such for their match against FC Copenhagen. Instead, Bayern Munich made the trip to Denmark and held a practise session in order to learn more about a few things, such as the condition of the surface at Telia Parken.

Tuchel agreed with Joshua Kimmich’s assessment, which is not surprising.

“We must consider the pitch. I’m glad we made the decision to use training in this way. We make decisions after each game. Little time was available. Less emphasis is placed on intensity and strategy during training. Due to the lengthy travel, the intention is for us to practise in Munich before the Galatasaray match. We have time (today) if the pitch isn’t as strong as we’d want. We’ll undoubtedly modify our style of play if necessary,” stated Tuchel.

Tuchel can at least rest easy knowing that he took the required precautions to obtain a sense of how things would look in “enemy territory” even though Bayern Munich enters as the overwhelming favourite on a subpar playing surface.
