FC Goa 2-1 Bengaluru FC: Player Ratings, Player of the Match

The GMC Athletic saw 2 reds shown as FC Goa defeated Bengaluru FC 2-1 on Saturday. This was Bengaluru’s were 4th loss of their Indian Super League (ISL) campaign. 

Adding a 2nd own goal to his tally, Ashique Kuruniyan netted in the 16th minute, putting the Gaurs in front. At the stroke of half-time, a breath-taking Cleiton Silva the own goal and drew level.

However, Goa’s Devendra Murgaonkar (70′) put his side ahead with a sublime finish, escorting his team to an important victory.

The tie also witnessed 2 red cards – Jorge Ortiz (55′) saw red for his reaction from a Wangjam foul and later Suresh (84′) himself.

Player of the Match

Standing out from crowd, Devendra Murgaonkar grabbed the Hero of the Match award quite deservedly. Post-match Murgaonkar: “I am feeling very nice. I scored my first goal of the season. I am very proud of the fighting spirit of the team. We have won two consecutive matches and we want to continue this.

On a cool Saturday night, the 23-year-old was FC Goa’s finest player on the pitch. He bagged the winner in the 70th minute. Devendra was also involved in the first goal, a sublime touch that led to Kuruniyan putting it into his own net.
