Premier League: fierce battle between Arsenal and Man City expected to last until the very end

Premier League

As the Premier League season goes on, both Arsenal and Manchester City are seeking to improve as the competition for first place in the standings heats up.

The English Premier League, in the opinion of the majority, is the most renowned domestic competition in all of sports. In addition, it is the most watched league in all of sports and the most lucrative in football, bringing in an estimated $5.3 billion in revenue per season. The tradition of having hard physical play, unexpected comeback tales, and displaying many of the greatest players in the world has continued with this season.

Arsenal leads the league by two points at this point in the season, having played one fewer game than the team in second place. Two years prior, Arsenal was in 11th position at the halfway stage of the season before moving up to eighth place with 61 points. They now have 54 points, which puts them on track to match Manchester City’s Premier League record of 100 points established during the 2017–18 season.

Manchester City, who are presently in second position, were the overwhelming favorites to win the championship for the third straight year at the beginning of the preseason. Even if they committed blunders, they still have a strong chance of winning, especially with Erling Haaland, a talented young Norwegian star who has been directing the offensive for Pep Guardiola’s club.

An additional surprise is Newcastle United. The Magpies had one victory and 11 points in their first 20 games of the previous season, and they were a strong candidate to be demoted to Division Two. With 10 victories and 41 points, they are currently comfortably in fifth position, and have the best defense in the Premier League.

However, three surprising teams—Brighton, Fulham, and Brentford—have risen to prominence this season, moving elegantly but cautiously above preseason favorites and powerhouses Liverpool and Chelsea. Manchester United, a previously underrated team, has also seen a comeback.

Leicester City, who won the Premier League only a few seasons ago and may have the greatest underdog tale in the history of the game, have been losing ground and are presently fighting to stay in the league. Nottingham Forest, one of the most successful clubs in English football, earned their happy return to Division One for the first time since the turn of the century, but are also fighting to avoid relegation.

The abundance of comebacks, late wins, and amazing goals we’ve seen are not even mentioned in these top pieces. There was a lot of emotion around the World Cup, and this energy surely carried over into the national championships that took place after it. The Premier League is now rife with curiosity, and for good cause. Although the 2022–23 Premier League season has been historically significant and remarkable thus far, we can only hope that the best is yet to come.

Although there are a lot of positions up for grabs on the Premier League standings this season, the title race will undoubtedly be the most thrilling. The likelihood that the top three teams, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United, will win the 2022–23 Premier League championship is examined next.

Arsenal

With 15 games remaining, the Gunners have a two-point lead, proving they are no fluke. Even after the loss to Manchester City last week, the club is still in the lead, although by a little margin. The club might not have as deep of a roster as a side like Manchester City, but they also aren’t as concerned with the Champions League as the Citizens are. Arsenal, who hasn’t won the Premier League since 2003, might be on their way to reclaim the top of English football.

Manchester City

Nathan Ake

Until last week, Manchester City were 5 points behind Arsenal in the Premier League standings, and even Pep Guardiola was arguing that a title was a long shot for the Citizens. However, with their win over Arsenal last week, the team rejoined the title race and are now the favorites to lift the trophy at the end of the season. City fans who took advantage of the 10CRIC bonus code to bet on a City title are sure glad they backed up the team before the odds were shortened.

Manchester United

United hadn’t lost a competitive game since November 6 before the 3-2 setback to Arsenal, which was one of the greatest games of the season thus far. Erik ten Hag’s team may not be ready to mount a championship challenge, but as long as Marcus Rashford is playing this well, United appear unbeatable. The English forward has been one of the best players in the world after the World Cup, and his form has been leading the team up in the standings. Even though a title shot still seems unattainable, Manchester United might surprise us by the end of the season.
