Florian Neuhaus has put to rest the rumors about his agreement to join Bayern Munich for now. In an interview given to German news outlet TZ, the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder said that he has not signed any contract with the German giants.

Florian Neuhaus is currently in the German squad for Euro 2020. In the interview, the midfielder opened up about the rumors regarding Bayern Munich and his expectation about the tournament.

Neuhaus has been linked with many top clubs including Bayern Munich and Liverpool. Recently it was reported that the 24-year-old has signed an agreement that will take him to Bayern in 2022.

The central midfielder has been impressive in his time with Monchengladbach. In his three years, Neuhaus has played 116 times for Borussia Monchengladbach and scored 16 timed for them. His performance got him a spot in the German national team, where he scored his 2nd goal in the recently held friendly match against Denmark.

A strong passer of the ball, Neuhaus plays in the central of the field. He can play on the left side of the midfield and is good at dribbling. Able to play in multiple positions, Neuhaus said that he is most confident in the centre of the midfield. Germany has many choices in the midfield like Joshua Kimmich, Toni Kroos, Leon Goretzka, and Ilkay Gundogan. This means that Neuhaus will likely be on the bench.

“I feel most comfortable in the centre. Whether it is ultimately on the 6, 8, or 10, that often varies in the game anyway. I’ve scored six goals this season. I would like to look into the box and degrees” – said Neuhaus

Regarding the Bayern Munich contract, Neuhaus rejected any rumors regarding the agreement. He said he is happy at Gladbach and that he has not signed any deal with the German champions.

“I also read that my move to FC Bayern in 2022 was already a done deal. And I can clearly deny that here and now. I haven’t signed a contract anywhere except with Borussia Monchengladbach. I feel very much at home there at the moment.”.

Neuhaus has played 33 times for his club in the Bundesliga this season. He has a good output playing from midfield as he assisted for 6 goals and scored 6 himself in the league. He is optimistic about his chance to play for Germany in the Euros adding that only the strongest players will appear for Germany.

The news is a big blow for Bayern Munich who was in pursuit of the 24-year-old. However, this will be good news for Liverpool. The Reds were linked with the midfielder and will need a replacement of their own in the midfield. Neuhaus is in contract with Monchengladbach till 2024. Any clubs looking to sign him will have to pay the €40 million release clause.
