FC Goa the first Indian club to compete in this prestigious Asian football competition-is right in there giving them a tough fight feels Yayha Golmohammadi. The head coach of potential title contenders Persepolis FC Golmohammadi knows the two ties against FC Goa will not be easy because they are tough to beat.

Persepolis FC has played two matches so far and has won both of them. Persepolis currently stands at the top of Group E of the AFC Champions League with six points in two matches. FC Goa on the other hand has been the surprise element. FC Goa has occupied the second spot after two back-to-back draws.

Now Goa are going to Persepolis FC at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Fatorda, Goa. FC Goa has done an exceptional job holding two much-fancied sides to goalless draws each. Ahead of the clash against Persepolis, FC Goa’s coach Juan Ferrando has said that this is a “dream” for them.

Yayha Golmohammadi’s take on FC Goa

“This is like a dream for us” says Juan Ferrando, head coach , FC Goa

“This is like a dream come true for us, we are taking it game by game. For us, it is all about the Persepolis game right now. We are taking it game by game, And we are focused “ Said Ferrando. Goa are currently paced at the second spot of Group E. However, a second-place finish in the group stage does not guarantee qualification into the knock-out stage. Only the three best second-placed teams from all the groups will qualify for the knock-out stage.

However, Ferrando isn’t thinking about it for now. “From my point of view, the next game is the most important one. I love this competition but we need to take it step by step. We will try to get more points but it is all about mentality. The players need this experience” stated Ferrando.

It’s is not going to be easy for Goa to secure points against Persepolis, because they are a much more experienced side in terms of playing in the AFC Champions League. And Goa would have to work really hard if they want to secure points against Golmohammadi side Persepolis.

One thing that have turned out in favor of Goa so far is Young Dheeraj have gained a lot of experience and have impressed everyone with his life-saving performances. Dheeraj also feels that this tournament have helped him transform into a better player.
