Hitesh Sharma is set to stay at Hyderabad FC this season

Hitesh Sharma, the 25-year-old Indian Midfielder, has been one of the most exciting young prospects in Indian Football. He is now contracted with Hyderabad FC, which will expire in 2024. Though many other ISL clubs have approached Hitesh Sharma to secure his service, but in all probabilities, Hitesh is most likely to stay with the Nizams.

Player Profile: Hitesh Sharma:

The Tata Football Academy graduate, Hitesh Sharma, started his football career at the Chandigarh Football Academy. The Jalandhar-born young midfielder started his professional career with Mumbai FC. Playing in the I-League, Hitesh made his professional debut on March 5, 2016 against Salgaocar.

From 2015 to 2017, Hitesh Sharma spent two seasons with Mumbai FC. Importantly, he played only 12 games for Mumbai FC. Later in 2017, Hitesh switched to Hero ISL side ATK.

Hitesh Sharma is a very smart midfielder who can also operate as an attacking midfielder. Hitesh is very sound with the ball and possesses an excellent ball-control technique. He is fast, brilliant in positioning, and has the ability to build up the game.

The versatile midfielder has good game-reading ability. The midfield maestro has excellent vision, great game-reading capability, and can utilize the dimension of the field with his effective passes. He is skillful, energetic, and has all the potential to be one of the future stars in Indian Football.

Performance in ISL: Hitesh Sharma:

Hitesh made his ISL debut with ATK under coach Teddy Sheringham. He has spent two seasons with ATK and played 27 games for them. In his time with ATK, he was unable to showcase all his capabilities but has shown some glimpses of his potential.

Later in 2019, Hitesh Sharma moved to Hyderabad FC and frequently featured in the midfield. Under the tutelage of Manolo Marquez, Hitesh has developed tremendously and has exposed the game in him. Under the guidance of other experienced foreign midfielders like Joao Victor, Borja Herrera, Edu Garcia, and Joel Chianese, Hitesh immensely developed his game and became one of the most regular players for the Nizams.

From 2019, he is still with the Nizams. Hitesh played 40 ISL games for the Nizams and has been instrumental over the years.

As Hitesh’s current contract is going to expire next year, many clubs have shown interest in this young prospect. Reportedly, four ISL clubs have held talks to negotiate for Hitesh, but as of now, none of them can make it to the advanced stages. Moreover, his parent club is also looking to offer him a long-term deal.

So, in all probabilities, Hitesh Sharma is all set to continue with Hyderabad FC, and his club is also unwilling to let him leave. Hyderabad wants to retain their best young prospect and is planning to build their team alongside him.
