Inaugural Futsal Club Championship sign of growth for Indian Football

The very first installation of the Futsal Club Championship organized by the AIFF is set to kick-off on November 5 in New Delhi. This will be India’s first-ever national level Futsal tournament.

The tournament will host sixteen clubs from across the country, divided into 4 groups of 4. Each team will all the teams in their group. The winners of each group will progress into the semifinals. The Futsal Club Championship draw took place via video conferencing at the Football House in New Delhi, with representatives from all the clubs present.

He believes that the tournament would have been on it’s 3rd edition had the pandemic not interveined. Football is growing in the country and this will be a boost for every kind of player. 5-a-side and 7-a-side football are very common across and not too different from Futsal.

This format keeps up with the latest trends of entertaining shorter formats of sports. It also adds to the soaring football fever in India. The anticipation for the competition is on the rise among the footballing circuit, as the idea is very new in the country. It will bring the youth who dream, breath and play football together.

The freestylers now get a chance to showcase their skill at the highest level. The new competition also expects to attract world-class players from all over the world to make the competition attractive.
