Inter interested in Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Inter Milan are reportedly showing interest in signing Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso as per the report in Italian outlet TUTTOmercatoWEB

The 30-year-old was linked with a move to the Giuseppe Meazza during the summer transfer window, but a deal never happened. The Blues offered the defender plus cash for Romelu Lukaku but the offer was rejected by the Nerazzurri. Eventually, the Serie A champions had to sell the Belgian forward to the West London club.

According to the report, Despite the financial situation of the Nerazzurri not going great at the moment. The club hierarchy have already started planning for the next season. They have identified the left-back as a primary spot to fix and Marcos Alonso is the priority name on the wishlist.

Atalanta’s Robin Gosens is also on the list but persuading La Dea to sell their star man could be very hard for Inter management. So, the Chelsea defender is looking like a more realistic option for the Serie A champions, given he will have only one year remaining in his contract at the end of this season.

Inter actively seeking the Chelsea ace Marcos Alonso:

Signing Marcos Alonso will be a very good addition to Inter Milan’s defence. The Nerazzurri have been suffering from their left-back position for quite a while now. And adding the Spaniard to Simone Inzaghi’s squad will certainly take care of that problem.

Ivan Perisic is currently filling that void for the Serie A giants. However, the Croatian is a winger by trade. So he is not a good defender which is a big concern for the Nerazzurri.

Meanwhile, following the departure of Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi. Inter hierarchy have replaced them brilliantly with Edin Dzeko, Denzel Dumfries and Joaquín Correa.

The excellent business from Inzaghi’s side is apparent. As the reigning Serie A champions are currently sitting third in the league with 17 points in seven games, only four points behind the league leader Napoli. The new signings have made a great impact on the squad and look promising for the future.
