Inter Kashi, the new team and energy from Varanasi

Atletico Madrid, a team from La Liga, said that it had partnered with Inter Kashi. It is the newest I-League team, to bring league football back to India.
“Atlético de Madrid has reached an agreement with the RDB Group of Companies to collaborate in its project to create the first national football club in the State of Uttar Pradesh, which will be based in Varanasi,” the organisation stated in a statement.
Atletico previously shared ownership of the Indian Super League (ISL) team Atletico de Kolkata. With the Kolkata Games and Sports Pvt. Ltd, a group led by former India cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly and including industrialists Harshavardhan Neotia, Sanjiv Goenka, and Utsav Parekh.

To see Atletico Madrid depart India, Goenka later purchased shares of the Spanish team. Atletico has a partnership with the Tata Football Academy (TFA) since November 2018. But has stayed out of the league football hierarchy. It declared on June 29 that this will alter in the ensuing days.

“Our club will contribute its long experience in the world of football in the start-up of this new club, both in the sporting part of the first team and in the development of grassroots football with the creation of the Bharat Athletic Academy, since the talents from this state must look to other areas of the country for their football development as there is no club at the national level,” the La Liga side said.

The coaching staff will be under the direction of Carlos Santamarina. He has served as the TFA’s head coach for the past four years.
I-League teams will be promoted to the ISL starting with the 2023–24 season, according to the Indian domestic football hierarchy. As a result, RoundGlass Punjab, the I-League champion from the previous year, will participate in the ISL from 2023 to 2024.
In order to be qualified to play in the I-League, the second tier of Indian domestic football, starting in September 2023, Inter Kashi announced it is finishing up its paperwork and assembling a first team.
