Barcelona is still searching the market for these kinds of chances. It appears that their most recent target is now a German Wonderkid

Interest Confirmed

Though their interest in this specific player has been mentioned on several occasions in the past, it may now have been verified by one of the most trustworthy sources in international football.

Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist, claims that Barcelona may be among the teams most interested in a certain German wonderkid. Florian Wirtz, a 20-year-old offensive midfielder, is the player in question.
Romano, who plays for Bayer Leverkusen right now, said in a recent video that Barcelona could be keeping an eye on the young player:
“Top clubs in Germany, England, and Spain are monitoring Florian Wirtz.”

Destination not Fixed

Romano reaffirms Spanish interest in the player with this comment. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona stand out in terms of potential destinations’ impact and reputation. Interestingly enough, though, the young player has already shown his adoration for the Catalan giants in the past.

Fabrizio Romano went on to say that the athlete may make a big splash during the 2024 transfer window. The German wonderkid may make his big break outside of the Bundesliga during the summer of next year.

Hunt for the German Wonderkid is ON

Barcelona will need to be wary of teams like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, to name just a few possible rivals.

In 13 games across all competitions this season, Wirtz has already tallied five goals and eight assists. Furthermore, even after returning after a protracted recuperation time, the athlete is still performing at the highest level.

Valued at €85 million with a contract expiring in 2027, Wirtz will definitely be an expensive target. In terms of the funds required for such an operation, Barcelona would have to do something significant.
