About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Frank Lampard is currently facing pressure from Chelsea as results start to falter. Being excited about what is to come, things are getting worse.

Although the club owner, Roman Abramovich hasn’t been keeping managers at his club as soon as the results start going out of favour.

However, as per Sky Sports, the club is considering the situation of Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United. Both the clubs haven’t sacked their head coaches even after a run of poor results.

RIVALS GIVING CHELSEA A GLIMMER OF HOPE WITH LAMPARD

Manchester United and Arsenal faced some very tough times during this Premier League 2020-21 season. However, the former is top of the League table and the latter is just two points behind the Blues.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was criticized for his form during the few matches of the Red Devils under him. The club appointed him as a caretaker manager in 2018. However, Ole’s side are now the title challengers along with teams like Leicester City, Liverpool, and local rivals, Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta had the perfect start to this Arsenal career and even finished as top of the league in the first few weeks. However, a string of defeats and draws piled up pressure on Arteta.

The former midfielder for Gunners responded in style defeating all the big teams when needed. Arsenal prevailed as FA Cup and FA Community Shield winners towards the end of 2020 under him.

Hence, both the clubs haven’t lost their faith in their respective managers. This could be the reason for Abramovich to keep Lampard at the club.

LAMPARD GIVEN A CHANCE TO SAVE HIS MANAGERIAL CAREER WITH THE BLUES?

Chelsea are struggling with their recent form winning only seven in their last fifteen matches played. However, the club has lost only five times. The pressure is piling up as the majority of the players in the team are struggling in keeping up with the other teams.

As per Sky Sports, the club would not be thinking about sacking Frank Lampard considering the above-mentioned situation. However, Lampard was also responsible for the 17-match unbeaten streak of The Pensioners towards the beginning of the 2020-21 season.

There had been several replacements lined up for him. However, currently, Thomas Tuchel emerges to be the front-runner. Tuchel was sacked by PSG in the middle of the season to be replaced by former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Anyway, it would be disheartening for the Blues supporters if he leaves. However, the decision is with Roman Abramovich regarding the sacking of the manager who has spent around £200 million on talented players.

Lampard is one of the coaches who has promoted youngsters to play in the senior team. However, if the results improve, the 47-year-old coach would be smiling again. Chelsea have some good time to prepare for the big matches as they face Luton Town, Burnley, and Wolves before playing the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
