ATK Mohun Bagan had a solid start to the season. Winning three of their first five games and losing only one. After their second setback to Goa in the sixth round, Ferrando’s side recovered with three consecutive triumphs. The Mariners then went on a losing streak, winning only two of their next eight games. But victories against the Kerala Blasters and East Bengal at the close of the season were enough to keep them in third place. In the elimination phase, the Kolkata-based squad overcame Odisha 2-0 before overcoming Hyderabad 4-3 on penalties in the semi-final.

Indian football star’s prediction of the winner of the ISL

Bengaluru started the season poorly, winning only three of their first twelve games and losing eight. Grayson’s team, on the other hand, has won every match since, a remarkable reversal. The Blues won eight straight league games before losing 1-0 to Kerala Blasters in the playoff phase. Bengaluru then defeated Mumbai City 9-8 on penalties in the semi-finals.

Rio Ferdinand is a Manchester United legend. Spotted him expressing his best wishes to Simon Grayson’s Bengaluru FC before of the encounter.

Commenting on the game, former East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, and India international, Mehtab Hossain stated, “It is very difficult to predict the winner. With both the teams going this far, it will be a 50-50 game but I would have to keep ATK Mohun Bagan ahead.” Shilton Paul and Joseba Beitia, both former Mohun Bagan Footballers, agreed with the decision. Shilton emphasised the importance of Vishal Kaith and ATK Mohun Bagan’s strong defence.

Flyod Pinto, former India U-20 Coach and Indian Women’s National Team custodian Aditi Chauhan, however, sharply refuted his forecast. Both of the extremely accomplished individuals who are frequently seen at every game along with the commentary believe that it may be Bengaluru FC’s turn.

Predicts of the BFC versus ATKMB final

Dipendu Biswas, Technical Director of Mohammedan SC and a former India international, provided an analytical perspective on the game. “ATK Mohun Bagan should edge out BFC,” he said, hoping that the trophy will return to Bengal. “If Bagan gets the early Goal we might even see a one-sided game. Whereas if the game is goalless or BFC leads in the majority of the match they might win. BFC has the character to get away with knockout games. But as a football enthusiast and former footballer, I personally want ATK Mohun Bagan to win. Bagan winning will cement Ferrando’s position for the near future. And it’s better if coaches like Ferrando stay in India. This will help Indian football to grow.”

Renedy Singh and IM Vijayan, two legendary footballers, were divided between taking sides. Renedy Singh feels that this game would feature ATK Mohun Bgana’s counterattack and Bengaluru FC’s tenacious defence. He was cited as saying that predicting the outcome of the tie would be extremely tough.

What’s in for the ISL finals?

Renedy Singh’s perspective was supplemented by legendary footballer IM Vijayan. He remarked that, despite the fact that this is not a one-sided affair, Sunil Chhetri can always make a difference, as seen by the previous stages. ‘It is very difficult to say who will win it for sure, but I can say that it will not be a one-sided game, at any given time,’ IM Vijayan remarked. ‘But, Sunil Chhetri can change the game for Bengaluru FC anytime, he has the experience, thus the prowess to do so.’

As the renowned footballers have their say, with a Kolkata team in the mix. An opinionated discussion has erupted among our Bengal youths in the league. The Chenniayin FC contingent also shared their predictions. Rahim Ali, Narayan Das, Sajal Bag, and custodian Samik Mitra supported their local club, ATK Mohun Bagan. However, experienced custodian Debjit Majumdar and Bengal’s State Team captain Monotosh Chakladar say it is going to be the clun from the south.
