Mumbai City FC interested in signing Gokulam Kerala full-back Naocha Singh.

Indian Super League champions Mumbai City FC set to sign 21-year-old full-back Naocha Singh. Naocha is from Manipur and currently playing for Gokulam Kerala in the I-League.

A full-back by nature, Huidrom Naocha Singh kicked off his professional career with NEROCA FC. Where he featured the U-18 team. In 2017 he shifted his base from NEROCA to TRAU, who were playing in the second division league. Naocha played 2 matches in the Imphal outfit in the season of 2017-18. Before he returned to NEROCA the following year. Naocha made his I-League in an against Real Kashmir which they won by 2-0.

Wing back Naocha made more I-League appearances in that season, after Gokulam signed him. Gokulam immediately made him a crucial part of the team, who were preparing for the Durand Cup, which they eventually won. They defeated Mohun Bagan in the finals by 2-1. Naocha even assisted the second goal for Gokulam Kerala.

The youngster made 14 appearances for the club before the season got canceled due to COVID-19. He made 15 more for the Malabarians in 2020-21, The same year they won their first ever I-League title.

Naocha have played a crucial part in Gokulam’s success. But now it’s time for new challenges, as Naocha goes to an even more elite league with Mumbai City FC. The Islanders also had a great season, they topped the league stages, earned qualification to the AFC Champions League 2022, and also secured the league title by defeating Mohun Bagan. Under the guidance of Sergio Lobera Mumbai have emerged as one of the strongest teams in the league.

With AFC Champions League in sight, the Mumbai outfit are now strengthening their squad further. They have already extended their terms of Bipin Singh, Amey Ranawade, Pranjal Bhumij, Valpuia and Dakshinamurthy. More signings and contract extensions will follow n the weeks to come.
