Adrian Lopez will be out of his contract this summer after spending 2 years with the club. This would be a perfect chance for Mumbai City to sign the 33-year-old striker from spain to bolster their squad.
Adrian Alvaro Lopez is a Spanish striker who currently plays for Osasuna CA in La Liga. Lopez have played in La Liga for 12 seasons now. Representing the biggest teams such as: Atletico Madrid, Deportivo, Malaga, Villarreal and Osasuna. Lopez have played over 297 matches in Laliga and scored 43 goals in his career, but Lopez have played 467 matches in total and scored 77 goals throughout his career. Adrian have also played for Porto in the Primeira Liga for 5 years and have been loaned several times.
Mumbai City the champions who have also qualified for the AFC Champion League. Mumbai would need an upgrade not only to defend their league title but also to prove their worth on the International level. These circumstances already make former Atletico Madrid striker, a promising target. Lopez would bring an immense amount of experience to Sergio Lobera’s side because of the time he have spent in the top Spanish league.
Why would Sergio want to replace the dynamic duo?
But keep in mind that Lopez have not been in form for a long time now. Lopez have scored only 3 goals in 44 games after joining Osasuna from Porto. That being said, if Mumbai wants to sign Lopez then would definitely let go off their striking duo of La Fondre and Ogbeche. However, both have given decent performance La fonder scoring 11 goals and Obgeche scoring 7 goals in 24 matches.
Lobera’s main concern would be age. La Fondre being 34 and Obgeche being 37, that seems quite old for a coach who wants his team to play a fast-paced match and Lobera relies heavily on the speed of the attackers. So, this might be the perfect time to sign Adrian Lopez.
