Italian clubs and Leicester to battle for Sassuolo star

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Napoli, Atalanta, and Leicester City are all in the race to land the star winger of Sassuolo Jeremie Boga in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Boga has shown his quality at times for Roberto De Zerbi’s side in the last few seasons. However, the lack of consistency is one of the biggest problems for his growth as a top-class player.

The Ivory Coast winger has been involved in 26 games in Serie A for the Neroverdi this season. The winger managed to score four goals and two assists.

Sassuolo bought Jeremie Boga from Chelsea in July 2018 for €3.6 million. And the current contract of the Ivorian with the Italian side will end in June 2022. So, he is willing to take a step forward in his career and ready to leave this summer.

Will Boga stay in Italy or go to Leicester?

According to Calciomercato, Jeremie Boga has a long queue of suitors who want to purchase the Sassuolo man. Napoli, Atalanta, Leicester, Lyon, and Villarreal all have shown an interest to sign Boga this summer.

Napoli are looking to reinforce their wing in the summer and they want to land Boga as a backup for the club captain Lorenzo Insigne.

Atalanta are also in line for the Sassuolo star. As Josip Ilicic is getting older and unable to keep himself fit for a whole season. So, they are willing to add the Ivorian winger to the squad to bolster their attack.

Leicester have had a huge problem with their wide-forward situation this season. Following a season-ending injury to Harvey Barnes Brandon Rodgers had to change the shape of the team. And Jeremie Boga will be a very good addition for Leicester to resolve the issue.

However, with just one year remaining in the contract, Sassuolo might be looking around €30-40 million for their star asset and gain some profit during this pandemic situation.
