Jamal Musiala who Snubbed England gets Maiden Germany call-up

The luminary teenager, Jamal Musiala has been given his maiden call-up to the German national squad by Joachim Loew. The 18-year-old was eligible to play for England as well as Germany. Previously he had snubbed his chance to feature for The Three Lions where he was raised.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz also has made quite an impression in the Bundesliga earning him the call. Since his debut for Bayer, he has been an immense hit.

Jamal Musiala graduated from the London side, Chelsea. He spent 8 years there before deciding to move to his birthplace. He signed for Bayern Munich in a deal that ties him with the club till 2026.

Is this Joachim Loew’s final time as a Coach?

After 15 long years as a national coach, Loew has said that he will be stepping down as the manager after the Euros. He guided Germany to their third FIFA World Cup in 2014.

It was a great tenure he had, except for the last 3 years. It was a heartbreaking Cup defence in the 2018 World Cup as they were knocked out in the group stage itself. Moreover, they were recently humiliated by Spain in the UEFA Nations League.

But that doesn’t dent the incredible career he has had. It will be one final shot at a silverware for him and he is making sure that he grabs it. He adores talented youngsters and has told his recent call-ups to keep calm and not to worry about the pressure of playing for the National side.

Both(Musiala and Wirtz) have huge potential, and I am sure that we will have a lot of fun with them in the next few years, but at the moment it is important not to rush into anything, they should take it easy and develop carefreely.”  – Joachim Loew told the German FA

Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz included, but who missed out?

Earlier this month, Loew had mentioned that there is a chance of recall for the veterans Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels and Thomas Muller. But so far, they have not been included and are missing from the squad. Marco Reus was also tipped for a return but his duration of play has been concerning with injuries haunting him.
