Speaking on The Overlap, Jamie Carragher predicted that Aston Villa vs Arsenal clash on Saturday will end in a draw. A draw would put an end to Aston Villa’s 14-game winning streak at Villa Park.
Aston Villa are enjoying an exceptional run of form under Unai Emery at the moment. They leapfrogged Manchester City with a 1-0 win over the champions in the last fixture.
Mikel Arteta’s men will certainly have their work cut out on Saturday, with Villa enjoying a 14-game winning streak at home. Arsenal scraped past Luton Town on Tuesday with a 4-3 win thanks to a last-minute Declan Rice header. The Gunners will certainly have to improve on Tuesday’s display to pick up three points away to Villa. But Jamie Carragher believes Arteta will have to settle for a draw against Arsenal’s former boss Emery.
It will be a a tough game for both Arsenal and Aston Villa
When asked about his predictions for Saturday’s game, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher said: “I think Villa are a good side. 1-1.”
Villa head into Saturday’s game just four points behind Arsenal who are on top of the table. Based on Aston Villa’s dominating display over Manchester City, Arsenal are definitely in for a tough evening.
Even though Aston Villa would be confident playing at home given their winning streak at home, it definitely won’t be an easy game for them either.
Emery will face his former club
Emery will undoubtedly be keen to get one over his former club. A win could have Villa fans dreaming of achieving something special this season.
Arsenal have picked up positive results of late but their performances haven’t exactly caught the eye, whereas Villa completely dominated the Premier League champions last night. As said earlier, it will be a difficult game for both sides, but that will make this game even more intriguing to watch.
