Jamshedpur FC 0-0 Bengaluru FC: The Game

Greg Stewart picked up from where he started as he won a free kick in the first minute itself in a dangerous position. However, his effort from the set-piece failed to trouble Sadhu in goal. Jamshedpur kicked off on the front foot which saw them vulnerable on the counter. Bengaluru FC made use of the spaces left behind by the Red Miner’s flying full-backs.

Alan Costa put his body on the line to block a shot from Greg Stewart 20 minutes in. Jamshedpur FC appealed for a penalty in the 35th minute. Komal Thatal was off on a flying run when he was brought down by Shrivas. However, the referee deemed the contact to be minimal.

Bengaluru’s first clear-cut chance fell to Cleiton Silva. The man-in-form managed to head the ball on target after meeting with Kuruniyan’s cross. However, Rehenesh was up to the task as he parried the ball away for a corner.

The first half ended scoreless. Greg Stewart continued to cause mayhem for Bengaluru’s defense in the second half. A loose pass from Sadhu in the 71st minute jeopardized his clean sheet. Lima charged towards the ball but could not find the composure to slot home.

Sadhu was a brick wall, coming up with 2 clutch saves to keep register a clean sheet, further frustrating Jamshedpur.

The final piece of drama in the match came about in the 85th minute. Chhetri got on the end of Kuruniyan’s delivery and guided it goalwards. The ball came off the crossbar after taking a deflection from Alan Costa. The match ended in a 0-0 draw where both teams took a point each.
