Jamshedpur FC 1-1 Hyderabad FC: Ogbeche rescues Hyderabad

The match between Jamshedpur FC and Hyderabad FC ended in a 1-1 stalemate. This was only the 5th tie between the two teams. The two teams continued their streak of stalemates and made it 4 draws in a row. The last 4 ties between the two teams have now reaped no winner at the end of the whistle.

Hyderabad FC recorded a spectacular win over defending champions Mumbai City FC before heading into this match. Jamshedpur FC, were also on the winning side in their previous match when they brushed aside FC Goa in a 3-1 win.

JAMSHEDPUR FC 1-1 HYDERABAD FC : THE GAME

With both teams coming fresh from a win, the tempo of the game was fast from the starting minute. Laldinliana had the first sighting of the goal for Jamshedpur FC in the 5th minute. His shot though was blocked away by Juanan, the experienced Spaniard.

With both teams trying to play on the front foot, both found it difficult to keep possession. The first proper sighting of the goal in the match was presented to Hyderabad FC. In the 13th minute, a corner for Hyderabad saw Juanan jump the highest out of all. However, he failed to keep it on target and missed a sitter for the men in yellow.

Greg Stewart, the man in form for Jamshedpur started pulling the strings for his team after settling into the game. In the 30th minute, the talisman got past two defenders before releasing his shot. However, he couldn’t trouble the goalkeeper as his shot hit the post and went out for a goal kick.

In the 40th minute, the deadlock was finally broken when Stewart outsmarted three Hyderabad players to get the turn on them. He then made no mistake and smashed the ball into the top right corner. Jamshedpur headed into the second half with a 1-0 advantage. The start of the second half was no different as Stewart continued his fine showing and troubled the opposition’s defense.

Bartholomew Ogbeche however had different plans and came up clutch for Hyderabad. Joao Victor laid off a proper chance for Ogbeche who made no mistake as he slotted it past the goalkeeper with ease in the 57th minute. Fatigue then kicked into the players. The players slowed down the tempo of the game and failed to create any clear-cut chances in the remaining time. The match ended in a 1-1 stalemate and both teams should be happy with the point.
