Jamshedpur FC to sign PC Laldinpuia from Aizwal FC

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Jamshedpur FC showed a good performance in the last season by securing the sixth rank in the ISL. They have been one of the busiest sides in the transfer market. They made a total of twelve signings ahead of the season. The club has already signed sixth season’s Golden Boot winner Nerijus Valskis.

Now the club has eyes on the 24-year-old defender PC Laldinpuia from Aizwal. They have been monitoring Aizawl’s star center back and are in advanced negotiations with the player.

The upgrade started in January with the signing of exciting youngster Boris Singh from ATK Mohun Bagan and former player Farukh Chaudhary from Mumbai City FC. Both winter signings significantly impacted Owen Coyle’s side, which finished 6th in the Indian Super League ladder last season.

Jamshedpur FC has already made Seimeinlen Doungel’s deal permanent and secured the signature of U-17 world cup starlet Komal Thattal. They are also set to sign Kerala Blasters forward Jordan Murray. At Jamshedpur, under the tutelage of Owen Coyle, the Indian winger, Seiminlen Doungel became a regular starter and played eight matches for the club.

Laldinpuia might strengthen Jamshedpur FC’s defense

The defender’s arrival might add more depth to the clubs’ defense.

Born in Mizoram, Laldinpuia began his career with Mizoram Premier League side Bethlehem Vengthlang before moving to Chhinga Veng. He also participated with the club during their 2nd Division campaign. Following good performances in the Mizoram Premier League, Laldinpuia was called up to represent Mizoram in the Santosh Trophy in both 2018 and 2019.

Laldinpuia’s big breakthrough came last season when he signed for former I-League champions Aizawl FC. He was a mainstay at the back for Aizawl and was arguably one of the best Indian center-backs of I-League last season. The 24-year-old racked up 14 appearances last season for Aizawl.
