Kalvin Phillips ready to Choose Liverpool over Manchester United when both the clubs will try to sign him. The English International prefers a move to the Merseyside rather than moving to the Old Trafford. The 26-year-old has been on the radar of the Reds over the past few seasons. The Red Devils have gathered their attention on Phillips thanks to his standout performances for Leeds and England over the last 18 months.

The Leeds Midfielder was a focal point for both club and country last season in the Premier League and Euro 2020. His performances on the pitch have attracted several teams to him. Liverpool and Man. United are two of the teams that will try to sign him during the upcoming transfer windows. Kalvin Phillips was an important part of the English team that reached the UEFA Euro 2020 Final.

Reports have also suggested that Kalvin Phillips is set to reject any possible transfer to join Manchester United. He does not want to hurt the sentiments of any of the Leeds United Fans by moving to Old Trafford. He remains under contract at the Yorkshire club until 2024 but could be the subject of a big-money move in the summer from either of the Premier League giants.

The old rivalry between Leeds and Manchester United could help Liverpool as they plot a move for Kalvin Phillips

Leeds United and Manchester United are one of the greatest rivals in English Football. Their rivalry goes back to the Wars of Roses in the 15th Century and the heated atmosphere between their Fans could still be seen. The Sun has reported that Kalvin Phillips would not be keen on a move to Old Trafford, given the old rivalry between Leeds and Manchester United and the sour taste that switch would leave in the mouths of fans at Elland Road.

Meanwhile, the midfielder is apparently of the belief that fans would be relatively less upset if he joins Liverpool. He might leave Leeds in order to sign for Jurgen Klopp’s club, which is his preference. However, it has been a difficult season for both Kalvin Phillips and his club so far as Marcelo Bielsa’s side are 15th in the Premier League table. The Whites are just six points above the relegation zone at the moment.

A hamstring problem picked up at the weekend in a draw with Brentford could keep Phillips out until February. He becomes the latest player to get injured in an injury-plagued season for Marco Bielsa. He joined Leeds United in 2014 and has made over 226 appearances for the club.
