Kerala Blasters FC ahead in the race to sign Ishan Pandita

Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters are ahead in race to secure the services of Indian International Ishan Pandita. A source close to the development has confirmed that both parties agreed to terms for the new deal, but paperwork is pending. Though East Bengal was heavily involved in the race alongside the Kerala Blasters, the player is heading towards the Manjappada Brigade.

Kerala Blasters are now the frontrunners to seal a deal with Ishan Pandita:

After a few weeks of battles with several ISL clubs, the Kerala Blasters have finally won the race. Young striker Ishan Pandita is all set to sign for the Kerala Blasters. Besides East Bengal, Chennaiyin FC was also keen on Ishan but could not convince the player.

Pandita will add solidity to Kerela’s squad and will be effective with his presence on the field. In Ivan Vukomanovic’s 4-4-2 formation, Ishan may pair up with Dimitrios Diamantakos in the front.

Ishan Pandita: Performance in ISL:

The 25-year-old Indian striker spent his initial career in Spain. Later in 2020, Ishan switched to the Indian Super League and signed for FC Goa. In that season, under coach Juan Ferrando, Pandita was used mostly as a super-sub.

Playing for FC Goa, Ishan Pandita has scored four goals in 17 appearances. Besides, Ishan made an impact whenever he came onto the field.

Next year, Ishan joined Jamshedpur FC under coach Owen Coyle. In Jamshedpur FC, he got more minutes than in FC Goa. However, Ishan scored six goals in 36 appearances but could not perform according to his ability.

Kerala Blasters are spending a busy transfer window:

The 2023 Summer Transfer window has been too busy for the Kerala Blasters. Players like Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, Nishu Kumar, and Sahal Abdul Samad left the club. On the other hand, Jaushua Sotirio (injured), Pritam Kotal, Prabir Das, and Naocha Singh are the new entrants.

With these new signings, Ivan Vukomanovic is going to form a competitive squad that can qualify for the ISL playoffs.
