Apart from forward Alvaro Vazquez, foreign players reunited with the squad in Kolkata. The Spanish striker will be to joining his teammates, by the end of the week, in Kochi.

Kerala Blasters FC will be staying in the city for three weeks for training. Then they travel to Goa in October. They are also scheduled to play two friendlies during this time.

Kerala Blasters FC to return with a hunger

Positive news emanates from the Blasters camp as well regarding injuries. Centre-back Abdul Hakku should be rejoining training following a minor knock in the first Durand Cup match.

Nishu Kumar has been going through treatment for the past two months. The full-back will also be joining the squad in early October to round off the final phase of his rehabilitation.

Kerala Blasters head coach Ivan Vukomanovic: “We are very happy to get back to Kochi after Kolkata. It would be great to get back to where we can have our training program under control

He continued: We will be working the next 15-20 days in Kochi with some friendly games. We are happy that the new players have arrived and that we can start to integrate them within the group…..and prepare further for the upcoming efforts before going to Goa.

Similar to the last term, Kerala Blasters will be taking on ATK Mohun Bagan in the opening game of ISL 2021. In the previous season, a goal from Roy Krishna was enough to see ATKMB sink the blasters.

However, this time around, ATK forward David Williams is certain that the side from Kochi will be tough competition. Williams recollected his first match against the Blasters. The atmosphere and the passion amazed him.

Last season, ATKMB went ahead to play in the ISL final while Kerala Blasters finished in 10th, just above Odisha FC.
