After a stellar FIFA World Cup, Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi returned to Paris Saint-Germain without delay. The star players spent a long time in Qatar as both France and Morocco went deep into the competition. Morocco was a surprise package at this year’s edition and reached the Semi Final stage. It was the first time an African country has reached the last four.

The Moroccan national team was beaten by France in the Semi-Final and finished as 4th eventually. Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi went toe to toe in the Semi Final where the former was neutralized. However, both players have mutual respect for each other and have amicably settled back at the club.

However, the Manager of Paris Saint-Germain has clarified that both players will be given rest. Christophe Galtier has said that the break was planned before the defeat to Lens. The club has a substantial lead at the top of the table and can afford to rest the star players.

Paris Saint-Germain needs Kylian Mbappe to restore his focus

It is a well-known fact that the French champions want to win the UEFA Champions League. The Parisians signed Lionel Messi from Barcelona in the hope of completing that dream. However, Kylian Mbappe has been the best player for Paris Saint-Germain by a mile.

The club will hope that the French superstar can return to his best form after the break. The club has a tough fixture against Bayern Munich in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The French Champions will hope to get past the German Champions in order to march towards their goal.

Both the players are expected to return on January 15th which means the break afforded is for 10 days. However, the club cannot ignore Ligue 1 as RC Lens have been consistently good. They are just 4 points behind the Parisians and have shown the ability to be dangerous. Paris Saint-Germain will have to perform consistently to fend off rivals in all the competitions!!
