LOSC Lille holds the destiny of the Ligue 1 title in its own hands before the last game. It was a great night for this 37th and penultimate day of Ligue 1 this Sunday night. While all ten games were played at 9 pm, the evening was full of suspense, action, emotions, and goals.

Lille was held in check by Saint-Etienne this Sunday (0-0). At the same time, PSG beat Reims. A 4-0 victory that puts the Parisians at 1 point of Lille before this last day.  The suspense remains total with one day to go. Lille almost won in the last minutes, but the free-kick of Yusuf Yazici was deflected on the post by Etienne Green (90th).

Lille, having not won the Ligue 1 title since 2010. Angers should not be difficult opponents. However, the Lille team has obviously a lot of trouble playing under pressure. As for PSG, you can never rule them out, especially with the talent they have. There is a very high chance that PSG will win against Brest. In this case, Lille is the master of its destiny. Only a victory against Angers can give them the title win.

Lille can still win the Ligue 1 title:

Christophe Galtier’s players did not manage to overcome AS Saint-Etienne. The first 25 minutes were very hard for Lille. The players were nervous because of the pressure of this match, which created a bad application of tactics. Moreover, there were many technical mistakes.

“We would have preferred to win. It was a difficult game, especially at the beginning. I did not recognize my team, once again at home. Our start was very slow. It was a little better afterward, we lacked success, but we couldn’t have much success tonight because we played a very average game. We would have preferred to have a small gap, but we are still ahead.” – Christophe Galtier (Lille coach, after the 0-0 draw against Saint-Etienne).

The coach is both disappointed with the game of his team but is not very surprised at the same time. LOSC Lille is known to excel in outdoor games. But unfortunately for the coach, his team often has a lot of difficulties at home. Sunday’s game was again proof of this.

In the next match of the 38th day of Ligue 1, Lille will face Angers. This match will be like a final for Lille who must try everything to win the title. LOSC Lille will have to play on its fundamentals.  Moreover, Lille hopes to have more luck outside against Angers. This draw allows them to still have their destiny in their hands.
