Liverpool have informed Real Madrid that they are prepared to sign Aurelien Tchouameni this summer if he becomes available. According to 90min, Liverpool approached Real Madrid about Aurelien Tchouameni. The Reds’ interest in the French international has been reignited. They have also informed Los Blancos that they are willing to sign the young midfielder if he becomes available during the summer transfer window.
Liverpool are desperate to sign a quality midfielder
After graduating from the Girondins Bordeaux academy, Aurelien Tchouameni rose to fame. During his 30-month stint at AS Monaco, though, he cemented himself as one of the top midfielders in Ligue 1. After receiving competitive offers from both Liverpool and Real Madrid, the 23-year-old joined Los Blancos last summer. So far, the French international has had a hit-or-miss season. While the teenager quickly established himself as a first-choice midfielder, he has recently been a backup option. However, he has made 44 appearances this season, contributing four assists. However, Tchouameni’s recent position has attracted the interest of Liverpool.
As previously said, Liverpool did show interest in signing the Frenchman before Real Madrid did. Los Blancos paid a base sum of €80 million to acquire Tchouameni’s services, with additional fees potentially bringing the total to €100 million. If Real Madrid sells him soon, they will try to reclaim the €100 million. Liverpool will be anxious to sign many midfielders this summer. They will see free agents James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leave Anfield. Furthermore, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are no longer the dominant midfielders they once were. Meanwhile, Thiago Alcantara has struggled with fitness throughout the season.
Reds are scanning the market to bolster their midfield
So Liverpool should scout the market for a midfield boost. Tchouameni has emerged as a possible transfer target for the Merseyside club. The Reds have now approached Real Madrid about signing the 23-year-old midfielder, notifying the club that he is available this summer. Liverpool dropped their pursuit of Jude Bellingham in order to pursue other midfielders such as Tchouameni. However, it is unknown whether Real Madrid will be willing to cash in on the French international after only one year. A summer transfer appears doubtful, but a fee of more than €100 million is on the table if the unthinkable occurs.
