Liverpool forward Salah on his way to join Saudi League

Mohamed Salah

The transfer of Mohamed Salah from Liverpool to the Saudi Pro League in the coming summer is reportedly a done deal. That is according to sources of Football Insider. Editor Wayne Veysey informs that a move for the 31-year-old in 2024 is now looking inevitable.

It is a belief that the Liverpool star informally agrees to become a part of the growing cohort of elite stars in the Saudi Pro League. Hence, a deal has been reached in principle.

Football Insider reported on Monday (October 30) that Liverpool has decided not to sell Salah. That is during the January transfer window, regardless of the offers they receive for him.

However, a reliable source has informed Football Insider that the player’s interest has been piqued. Hence, he is likely to receive a lucrative contract offer in the Middle East. During the most recent summer transfer window, Al-Ittihad made a bid. But all their attempts were turned down by Liverpool. Despite offering a package worth a total of £150 million.

Will Salah let go of Liverpool?

There is now a belief that an offer exceeding £150 million could secure Salah. That is at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season. He will turn 32 shortly after the season ends and will have only one year remaining on his reported £350,000-a-week contract at Anfield.

Salah has been in impressive form this season. Thus, registering 10 goals and providing four assists in 14 appearances across all competitions. He also captained Liverpool in their 2-1 League Cup victory over Bournemouth on Wednesday, November 1st. However, he may miss several games in the new year due to his participation in the African Cup of Nations.

Liverpool and the forward will take on Luton, who are currently struggling, in their next match on Saturday, November 4th. Jurgen Klopp’s team currently occupies the fourth position in the Premier League standings after playing 10 games.
