Kingsley Coman could start a transfer battle as Liverpool have also entered the race for his signature. According to reports, Liverpool is joined by the likes of Chelsea as they look to sign the winger from Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga champions are wary of the fact that Coman will have his contract end in 2023. With no progress in the talks for an extension, Bayern will be forced to sell the France international. Liverpool did make an enquiry about Coman this summer but was put off by the asking price.

However, as per the report from the Mirror, the former sporting director of Bayern Christian Nerlinger, said that the club will sell him if his contract can’t be renewed. Coman has not featured much this season and has shown interest to move away from Bayern.

LIVERPOOL CAN CAPITALISE ON COMAN CONTRACT SITUATION

Coman was one of the vital parts of Bayern in the last few seasons. However, the player is injury prone and had to spend a lot of time on the treatment table. But Coman is a serial winner, having won the league title in all of his last 9 campaigns.

In his time with Bayern, the French winger has appeared 204 times for them, scoring 41 goals. He has also played for the likes of PSG and Juventus. The Italian giants are another club that is interested in bringing him back.

Though he had great success with Bayern, including winning the treble in the 2019/20 season, all is not well. There is growing tension between the parties especially after the arrival of Leroy Sane. Coman is not happy with his current wage and wants it to be on par with the German.

The negotiations are ongoing, but no progress seems to be made. This means that Bayern could have to let him go for free in 2023, which the German giants do not want. Hence clubs could sign Coman for a lower fee in the next transfer window, and Liverpool are hoping to bank on that.

Liverpool are looking to freshen up their attack with their front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah all reaching 30. Though riddled with injuries, Coman is still a very exciting winger and will provide strength to the Liverpool side.
