Liverpool linked midfielder sends plea to Pep Guardiola over Manchester City transfer

Manchester City

Liverpool FC linked midfield talent Andre has reportedly made contact with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola over a potential move to the Etihad.

His current club Fluminense and Man City came to head to head in a recent clash at the Club World Cup. The two clubs competed in the final. The final saw the Cityzens emerge as comfortable winners.

Nevertheless, Andre’s appearance in the final capped off a sensational rise in the game. It put him further into the limelight for several clubs in Europe looking for his signature.

Andre gets glowing reference from Manchester City legend

Several top clubs have shown interest in the 22-year-old. One of them is Liverpool FC. The latest name on that list is Man City.

According to reports from Manchester City insider Tolmie’s Hairdoo, it is claimed that Andre has ‘personally asked’ Pep to sign him during the January transfer window. It is further revealed that City legend, Fernandinho, has given his fellow Brazilian a glowing reference. The Man City legend has a strong relation with the club since his exit.

City look to replace Kalvin Phillips

Man City are continuously eyeing a move for a better back-up for Rodri than Kalvin Phillips. Clubs across Europe and in the Premier League are interested in Phillips, who is expected to depart from the Etihad.. Sources indicate that Juve and Newcastle are leading the race. Crystal Palace, Fulham, and West Ham are also reportedly interested in the out-of-favour midfielder.

Phillips himself is desperate for more game time across the course of the coming months. He will be looking to secure his place in the England squad for the Euros this year.

It is no secret that Man City have struggled in the absence of Rodri. If Manchester City can bring in Andre as a back-up for Rodri, and sell Kalvin, it could be a win-win for all parties involved. It would certainly be a great opportunity for Andre to develop under some of the best in the game.
