Injury Saga Continues for Liverpool with Merseyside Defeat

The town was painted blue by Everton after their 1st victory of the 21st century over Liverpool at Anfield in their 289th Merseyside derby.

Liverpool, for the past 2 seasons were breaking records that were sweet to their taste, and this season they are about to break all the records which are sour to their memories.

After more than 2 decades Everton beat Liverpool by 0-2 on their home soil Anfield. The place where first teams used to fear to play against them has now become the easiest one to visit as the Reds have lost four in a row on their home turf.

After the match Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp when asked about how much the result hurts to which he said,

“A lot, a lot. But, we conceded a completely unnecessary first goal and we should not forget that. That’s a big part of the game. There were two big parts. You have to defend and we have to score. In one situation we didn’t defend well enough, so they could score, we made a mistake if you want. And we didn’t use their mistakes or we didn’t use the things we created. And that’s why we have the result”.

Another injury for Liverpool:

During the match, skipper Jordon Henderson suffered an injury just half an hour into the match. After which Nathaniel Phillips and Ozan Kabak paired as the 18th centre-back partnership of the season for Liverpool till now.

After the match, the Reds boss when asked about Henderson’s injury, he said “It doesn’t look like a small injury. It doesn’t look good. Nobody in the medical department was positive about it.” [bein sports]
