Nikola Milenkovic joined Fiorentina in 2017 and since then the Serbian has made 106 appearances for the club and has found the back of the net 10 times for the club.

The 23-year-old has caught the attention of many European clubs as he has established himself as one of the most promising defenders in Italy. His unique defensive capabilities have made clubs make enquiries about the star’s availability.

Milenkovic to leave Fiorentina in summer?

Manchester United in pole position to sign Milenkovic?

Many Clubs have approached Fiorentina about centre-back’s availability. There have been reports that the star will not agree to his contract being extended. Reports also suggest he will let his contract run out by summer of 2022 which will make him a free agent.

According to La Repubblica, Red Devils are favorites to sign the Serbian. United who are currently 2nd in the Premier League have been facing a lot of defensive issues. Rotational center-backs Eric Baily and Phil Jones have been facing injury problems which have kept them on the sidelines for weeks.

Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire have been regular but not performing up to expectations this season. So Premier League giants are looking to land another defender in the summer as they want more options in defense. Hence they are eager to sign the Serbian as his presence would be a major boost to their defense.

However, the Premier League giants will face stiff competition from clubs such as Juventus and Roma who are also interested in signing the Serbian star. Therefore it will be important for United to open talks with Fiorentina over his signing as a transfer can take place for the star sooner or later.
