Manchester United are Premier League Title Contenders – Roy Keane

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Roy Keane insists that Manchester United are title contenders and they can battle it out with Liverpool for the Premier League title.

Manchester United moved into 3rd position from 5th position in the Premier League table after they demolished Leeds United. The Red Devils scored six goals past them. The match ended 6-2 with United getting all the three points.

It was a glorious match which saw McTominay score 2 goals in 3 minutes making him the only player to accomplish that feat. Besides him, Bruno Fernandes, Victor Lindelof and Daniel James found themselves on the scoresheet.

ROY KEANE THINKS MANCHESTER UNITED CAN CHALLENGE:

This game highlighted that Manchester United are strong contenders who can get their hands on the Premier League, Roy Keane thinks so too. And if they continue to show this form in other matches. They have a high chance of them finishing the season with flying colours.

Roy Keane pointed out the same by saying

“I think over the last few months they’ve been heavily criticised, particularly over the home record.

“I’ve been quite critical of the back four, the goalkeeper, questioning where this team is going, but the name of this game is proving people wrong. Maybe, just maybe, this group of players can do that.

“They’ve been winning games, and that’s all you can do. United are in a great position considering how slow they were out of the blocks. If United can get their house in order at home, there’s no reason why United can’t stay up there.

“I think Liverpool are still the best, but there’s no reason why United should be fancying their chances in terms of pushing Liverpool.”

Manchester United will go up against Everton in the EFL Cup Quarter-Finals which they would want to win. This would also be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first trophy as a Manchester United manager.
